In 1998, WebBeds parent company, Web Travel Group (formerly named Webjet Limited), began as a small start-up seeking to disrupt traditional norms in the highly competitive online travel industry. In just over 10 years, Webjet became the #1 OTA in the Australian and New Zealand market.

Our success was fuelled by a culture founded on customer focus, innovation, and creativity.

2013

WebBeds was born

Web Travel Group took this culture overseas in 2013, launching WebBeds in Dubai, and again sought to disrupt the industry, although this time in B2B travel trade distribution.

In just over 6 years, WebBeds became the #2 global B2B provider.

Webjet B2C demerges from Web Travel Group

In 2024, Webjet Group Limited (ASX:WJL), comprising the B2C businesses of Webjet OTA, GoSee and Trip Ninja, demerged from  our parent company Web Travel Group (ASX:WEB), creating two independent and simplified companies, improving our ability to pursue independent strategic priorities and growth agendas relevant to our business.  You can find out more information on the demerger on Web Travel Group's Investor Centre website.

2013

WebBeds is born

WebBeds journey begins with the development and launch of B2B booking website ‘Lots of Hotels’ in Dubai. Initially servicing the Middle East market, the LOH brand grew quickly expanding into Africa & The Americas.

2014

We acquire Sunhotels

WebBeds expands into Europe with the acquisition of Sunhotels, a Spanish based B2B provider with a key strength in Mediterranean and beach properties and market leadership in the Nordic countries.

2015

We enter Americas market

WebBeds expands into the Americas market, launching Lots of Hotels first in North America, and soon extending into Canada and Latin America.

2016

We launch FIT Ruums in the Asian market

WebBeds makes its Asian market entry with the launch of FIT Ruums booking website, the company’s entry strategy into the fast growing Asian B2B market.

2017

We acquire JacTravel DMC

A London based global B2B provider with a key strength in tier 1 European city properties. The acquisition made WebBeds the #2 provider in the global B2B market.

2018

We acquire DOTW

WebBeds acquires Destinations of the World (DOTW), a leading B2B business headquartered in Dubai. This meaningfully increased WebBeds’ scale and consolidated its position as the clear #2 global provider.

2019

We launch UHI in the MEA market

WebBeds launches specialist brand Umrah Holidays International (UHI) in the Middle East, the first truly online B2B provider of religious travel services.

2020

We unify our B2B trade brands under WebBeds

We unify our B2B trade brands under the WebBeds brand, presenting a single cohesive global brand to the travel industry, simplifying our commercial proposition and streamlining processes for both supplier and buyer partners.

2023

Record Bookings & TTV

In FY23, the post pandemic resurgence continued with organic growth driving record bookings & TTV, and with Group Bookings, TTV, Revenue and EBITDA all ahead of pre pandemic levels in 2H23.

2024

Webjet B2C demerges from Web Travel Group

In September 2024, Webjet B2C (Webjet Group) demerge from Web Travel Group, creating two independent and simplified companies. We sell Jac Travel DMC to Tour Partner Group.

2025

FY25 Results - Refocused and recalibrated

With the demerger completed, our growth continued unabated during FY25. At almost A$5 billion, TTV is nearly double what it was before the pandemic, with our key growth markets of Asia-Pacific and the Americas now accounting for 53% of TTV, up from 31% pre-pandemic.

FY26

1H26 Results: Record TTV, Revenue & EBITDA

WebBeds continues to deliver world class TTV growth. We reported $3.2 billion TTV for the first 6 months of the financial year, 22% more than the same period last year, are on track to deliver record results in FY26.
