As a Market Manager at WebBeds, you will be crucial in managing and expanding our relationships with hotel suppliers across Japan. Your role will involve negotiating new contracts, managing existing agreements, and ensuring that our suppliers provide the best rates and availability for our platform. By collaborating with Sales, Operations, and other internal teams, you will enhance supplier performance and drive business growth. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in hotel contracting and a passion for building strategic partnerships.
In this role you will:
As a Market Manager, you will lead efforts to build and sustain valuable relationships with hotel suppliers. You will negotiate new and renewed contracts to ensure competitive availability and pricing. By analyzing market data, setting targets, and monitoring supplier performance, you will drive business growth and optimize our market share. You will also be responsible for promoting WebBeds’ extranet system and ensuring seamless integration with supplier processes. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, strong negotiation skills, and a hands-on approach to managing supplier accounts.
Key Responsibilities.
- Develop and maintain strong, respectful relationships with hotel suppliers.
- Negotiate and renew contracts, ensuring optimal rates, availability, and short release periods.
- Manage supplier accounts, securing the best rates and allotments, and addressing any issues related to payment or rates.
- Set and track targets for suppliers based on account management and market needs.
- Monitor and adjust allotment utilization, and convert third-party business into direct partnerships.
- Introduce new suppliers to WebBeds and promote the use of our extranet system for updates.
- Ensure Direct Connectivity rates are updated and accessible year-round.
- Analyze market intelligence, run reports, and assess hotel performance to implement action plans.
- Support Sales with special rate requests, group trips, and other requirements.
- Collaborate with the Data Entry and Operations teams to resolve contract or system issues.
- Attend travel markets and conferences to build relationships and gain market insights.
- Develop and execute action plans to increase market share in assigned territories.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in hotel contracting, preferably within OTAs, Bedbanks, or Tour Operators.
- Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen, with a proactive, dynamic approach.
- Native Japanese speaker with excellent English skills, both written and verbal.
- Highly accurate with a keen attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with a solid understanding of yield and revenue management theories.
- Self-starter with a “can-do” attitude and a target-driven approach.
- Willingness to travel for business trips to assigned destination areas.
