As the Head of Sales – Italy, you will play a pivotal role in driving the company’s growth and market presence across Italy. Your leadership will be instrumental in achieving sales targets, maximizing revenue, and expanding our client base. You will develop and execute strategic sales plans, build influential relationships with key stakeholders, and represent the company at industry events.

In this role you will:

As the Head of Sales – Italy, you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities with travel partners, including tour operators, travel agents, and online agencies, while also managing and nurturing relationships with existing mid-to-large-sized clients. Your role will involve conducting field sales trips, telesales, and attending trade fairs to represent WebBeds in the marketplace. With a strategic approach to sales and client development, you will play a key role in driving growth and supporting the broader sales team as a mentor. While this role does not include direct reports, it requires a high level of seniority and market expertise.

Key Responsibilities.
  • Weekly/Monthly Reporting on Italy Performance.
  • Report on Market trends and development.
  • Put in place weekly sales activity plans.
  • Daily analysis of your region using BI.
  • Create sales opportunities through a daily analysis of clients search behavior.
  • Create and manage strong Sales Pipeline.
  • Achieve company and personal targets.
  • Training clients on our online hotel/transfers/services platform. Either via POS or via XML.
  • Develop contacts within Key Accounts assigned to you.
  • Represent the company at key trade shows as required.
  • Travelling to meet new/existing clients as required.
  • Keep the CRM system updated and accurate.
  • Oversee bidding process from start to finish for big opportunities.
  • Liaise with Marketing team, agree on activity through the year.
  • Know the planning cycles for all your markets, providing the right products and prices within client deadlines.
  • Become familiar and keep up to date with each destination we offer, what are the new products available, our key hotels, our strengths and challenges in each market.
  • Become familiar and keep up to date with the assigned markets, who are the key players within the various segments, who are our competitors, what is new in terms of trade shows, marketing possibilities, be aware of changes both at a micro and macro level that will affect our business.
  • Work closely with internal teams including analytics, customer service, finance, and supply to articulate the needs of the partner base and foster a collaborative approach across the broader WebBeds business.
  • Act as brand ambassador for Webbeds and drive the importance of us as a key hotel and services supplier by increasing market share relative to competitors.

  • Strong commercial instinct and entrepreneurial drive combined with the ability to think creatively and take initiative to execute effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of the competitive set.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and comfort working with partner contacts at every level.
  • Ability to make decisions and to work on own initiative and in a team.
  • University degree or equivalent related professional experience.
  • Local language for market assigned required.
  • Good level of English. Verbal and written.
  • Strong contacts with tour operators, travel agents, consortia etc.
  • Experienced manager with proven record in sales within travel industry preferably in a similar role.
  • A solid working knowledge of Microsoft applications.
